YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County district of St. Vincent de Paul will have two community outreach, today and Saturday to provide food, clothing, socks and underwear to needy families and children of low-income families who are going back to school.

“There are so many needy families and children in our community, and we want to make sure that no child has to go without food, socks or underwear,” Anne Kravitz, board president said. “As families begin to think about back-to-school needs, they should not have to worry about food for their families or clothing for their children. So, we will be providing those in need with these basic items.”

• The food outreach is 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at 1125 Turin St.

• Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the organization will be giving away socks and underwear to needy and low-income children. This will be at its food pantry. Sub sandwiches and drinks will be served. The pantry is across the street from St. Cyril and Methodius Church. The church address is 252 E. Wood St.

Adults must have the child present to pick up clothing Saturday.

Sts. Vincent de Paul Mahoning County District thanked the Youngstown Diocese and its volunteers, donors and supporters .
